Ranthambore

Dry deciduous forest and historic fort ruins provide one of India’s most photogenic settings for Bengal tiger sightings on jeep safaris.

Book zone-specific gypsy permits well ahead in peak season (November–March). Early morning and late afternoon drives offer different light and animal behaviour; sloth bears, leopards, and crocodiles share the ecosystem. Stay in lodges outside the core; respect silence and no-feeding rules. Combine with Jaipur or Bundi for culture, or Bharatpur wetlands for birds. Summer heat can improve tiger visibility near water but is taxing for visitors.
