Munnar

Rolling tea estates and misty Western Ghats ridges make Munnar a cool-climate escape above Kerala’s tropical plains.

Visit working tea factories, trek to viewpoints such as Top Station, and scan Eravikulam National Park for the Nilgiri tahr. Attukad and Lakkam waterfalls run strongest after monsoon. Early mornings often bring fog over the estates; carry layers year-round. Combine with Thekkady or the backwaters for a classic Kerala triangle. September to May avoids the heaviest monsoon deluges on the ghats.
